*Probably the most common question The Farmacist is asked about Super Cal Plus is why is there so little Calcium in it?

There are several reasons:
  1. Calcium reaches a maximum absorption capacity in the gut, and after this point no more can get into the blood stream. Super high doses of calcium are not absorbed, but merely deposited in the stool, leading to an increased risk of constipation.
  2. Most supplements are actually pretty bad at getting calcium in a usable form to your body. Super Cal Plus contains bioavailable calcium, meaning that a high percentage of the calcium in the capsule actually reaches the bloodstream unchanged and ready for action.
  3. Many calcium supplements fail massively because the provide calcium by itself. Without Vitamin D, calcium cannot be absorbed, and without Magnesium, calcium cannot be deposited into bones. Plus when you supplement calcium by itself, you run the risk of harm to the cardiovascular system. Calcium causes the cardiovascular system to contract, whereas magnesium can relax it. Even worse, when calcium is not effectively deposited in your bones, it combines with fat in your blood stream, and hardens into plaques. This is why it is so important to have both magnesium and vitamin D alongside your calcium supplements.
