Trust issues are usually based in past hurts or trauma. Memories of abandonment, betrayal, and abuse can all cause us to guard our heart. All of this is based in fear, remember fight or flight response rules the amygdala? With people who are guarded past experiences put emotional or physical intimacy into the flight category (the flight response that kept our caveman ancestors alive, and that we all inherited). With that flight response come all the stress and tension of our past hurts. However, the fear from past emotional or physical trauma can keep us from experiencing the kind of life we long to have, and more importantly it keeps us from experiencing true freedom. So let’s get back to that neuroscience lesson we started in the emotions and oils post, but this time let’s talk Hippocampus. This is the area of our brain responsible for memory and learning, so what happens if the memories you have had, made you learn to be guarded? Well that’s the key isn’t it, and it’s also where the oils and intentional care for past wounds needs to begin. When we use oils like Valor, Sacred Frankincense, Believe, Hope, Inner Child, Ylang Ylang, Clarity, Brain Power, Peace & Calming, Forgiveness, Feelings Kit, Freedom Release & Freedom Sleep Kit to help release memories from past woundedness or trauma, we can allow our brains to relearn new methods of handling emotions. *It's important to note that many times professional counseling is a vital part of the release and freedom process.
Obviously, this relearning process of handling emotions is way easier said than done. As a girl with serious abandonment issues and loads of past emotional and physical trauma, I am not telling you sniff this oil and dust off your shoes for a new path. I am still on a journey of healing, one that has me daily focusing on my Abba Father in heaven. One that has me spending time in prayer while diffusing Sacred Frankincense, Peace & Calming, and putting on Inner Child, Valor, and other oils. And most importantly one that has me stopping and examining if what I am feeling is an appropriate response or one based on past hurts and fears. However rough your past has been, healing is a journey worth taking to find the kind of Freedom that comes from moving on. Comments are closed.
